Vacuum Lifters

One vacuum lifter to fit all carriers

Adaptation applies not only to our vacuum lifters but also to the carriers for which we design our products. For example, different excavators have varied power supplies. This could make it challenging to put a vacuum lifter into use. However, this has been thought through at Vlentec. Our vacuum lifters can in fact be supplied by power in three variations, which you can read about below.

Excavator and forklift use

Vacuum lifters are most commonly used on excavators capable of providing a constant power supply. Such applications can generally be fully powered by the excavator’s battery and alternator. A power cable is connected to the excavator’s battery and is applied across the boom to the vacuum lifter. Unrestricted rotation is maintained with an electric slip-ring mounted on the hydraulic rotator of the vacuum lifters. This method can also be used when the vacuum lifter is mounted to a forklift. All Vlentec vacuum lifters have forklift sleeves integrated into the frame.

Crane use

When a vacuum lifter is used on a carrier or lifting device, for instance on a(n) (indoor) crane, which does not have a 24Vdc power supply, our electric vacuum lifter can be equipped with an interchangeable battery pack. This allows the vacuum lifter to operate completely independently of the material handler. Vlentec’s smallest battery pack can handle up to 600 lifting operations without recharging!

Battery powered vacuum lifting

Vacuum lifters used on either a crane, or other material handlers without 12-24Vdc power supply, or an excavator can be equipped with a battery pack. When the crane is in use, the vacuum pump runs on the integrated battery pack. When the crane is connected to the excavator, the battery is being charged and the electric motor is powered by both the excavator’s battery and the vacuum lifter’s battery. This setup is also available for Vlentec’s ED250N electric vacuum lifter with a capacity of 25 000 kg. The ED250N is equipped with a large vacuum pump, hence the vacuum lifter’s battery acting as a buffer to provide a powerful electric supply to the electric motor.
